The VR3 is a full decompression dive computer incorporating
a derivative of the Bühlmann ZH-L16 algorithm with modifications to
support deep stops, adjustable shallow stop depth, and dynamic
decompression ceilings. (An optional upgrade allows switching between
the Bühlmann ZH-L16 and Varying Permeability Model B/E algorithms).
During a decompression dive, the VR3 provides complete information
displays of all required stop times. The VR3
will NOT "lockout" after a missed stop or ascent rate violation it will show a
"USE TABLES" alarm but still give a "best estimate" decompression
information. The
VR3 upgrade options also provide outstanding support for semi-closed
and fully closed-circuit rebreathers and have been used extensively on
homebuilts to completely monitor PO2 and deco information on the fly.

State of the Art Dive Computers
The VR computers are the most up to date computers on the market and we aim to
keep them right there on the cutting edge of technology by adding useful options
and fun features all the time. They are truly dive computers for the 21st
century, interactive tools which meet the needs and match the lifestyle of those
of you who are used to the advantages of mobile phones and PDAs in your surface
existence and want similar technology to accompany you on your underwater
adventures.
Colour your world!
Choose our VR2 Splash models and you will be the proud owner of the world’s
first full colour dive computer. With the backlight keeping the colours bright
at any depth, you will be amazed at the difference from standard monochrome
screens.
Upgradeable
VR2s grow with you as your diving career progresses. Start off with the base Air
and Nitrox model and if you eventually get into rebreather diving you do not
need a new dive computer, you just upgrade your VR2 .
Unique Analyser function
With the optional analyzer mode enabled and cable fitted these are the only dive
computers capable of operating also as an oxygen analyzer. Place the sensor on
the end of the cable into the gas stream, measure the oxygen reading and set
that into your gaslist. Very easy to use and saves you buying a separate
analyzer.
Rebreather Interfaces
With the optional rebreather mode enabled and the cable fitted the VR2 are able
to link up with both closed and semi-closed rebreathers to provide real time PO2
decompression monitoring and independent oxygen monitoring.
Integrated High Pressure Link
With our optional high pressure link cable connected and the appropriate
software enabled, you can monitor your air or gas supply, measure your breathing
rate and see at a glance how much time you have remaining at depth before you
reach your reserve pressure.
Dive Logging Software
VR2 owners can buy our Prodive dive logging software package that will
enable them to download dives from your dive computer into a PC as well as
upload gas profiles. A sample ProDive CD is supplied free of charge with each
computer so that you can see how the programme works.
Reliable decompression algorithm.
Proplanner was one of the first desk top decompression software programmes and
it forms the basis for the decompression algorithm in the VR2 . It is based on
the Buhlmann ZHL 16 algorithm and, in line with current thinking in
decompression science, incorporates 2 minute deep stops on the ascent. These are
designed to reduce the formation of microbubbles, which are thought to
contribute to decompression illness. |
VR3 General Accessories
|
Acrylic CoverThis clear lightweight rigid polycarbonate cover
snaps to the face of the VR3 computer, protecting the entire face from
getting scratched or nicked. Recently improved to strengthen the snaps.
|
|
Flexible Lenz GuardThis clear flexible, very low profile Lenz
Guard is custom die cut to fit into the inset of the VR3 glass face and
aids in reducing the risk of damage to the LCD lens of the VR3.
|
|
VR Carry CaseProtect your investment with the VR Carry Case.
Thickly padded zippered bag perfectly protects your VR3 computer and
includes an inside pocket for battery cap key and extra battery. Richly
embroidered with the VR Computer logo.
|
|
PC Link and Software Suite KitThe VR3 PC Link cable and ProLog
software are used to download and analyze dives from the VR3 with any
MS Windows PC. PC Link also includes upload feature permitting the
installation of PINs, personalization details, and gas profiles via the
PC Link rather than manually. The Software Suite allows you to
participate in Divers Alert Network (DAN) studies
by electronically transmitting your dive log data to DAN. The package
includes a USB to Infrared data cable, Software Suite CD, and Feature
Activation PIN. The Software Suite CD includes ProLog logging software,
ProPlanner desktop decompression planning software, PC Link drivers and
documentation.
|
|
Oxygen Analyzer KitYour VR3 Oxygen Analyzer accessory offers
convenience and portability. To analyze the contents of a gas cylinder,
simply hold the easy-to-use "Quick Ox" gas sampler up to the valve
outlet, gently crack open the valve and the oxygen analysis is
displayed on the VR3 in a few seconds. Includes Sub-Mini-Plug to VR3
I/O Port interface cable, R-17 Oxygen Sensor and Feature Activation
Pin.

NOW
AVAILABLE!
An optional new
variation of the VR decompression algorithm incorporating a variable
permeability model
Thank you for your
patience!
We are pleased to
announce, in response to the many requests we have received over the
last few months, that as of 14th November, 2005, an upgrade
is available which will enable owners of VR computers to use both the
standard VR decompression algorithm AND a new variation of the algorithm
that we have developed which incorporates a variable permeability model.
We are calling this the V1 upgrade and it will provide selection of
either model on a single VR computer.
What
it does.
The new algorithm is based
on VPM BE and depending on gas selection and dive depth and time, it
will in some cases provide a reduced decompression requirement, although
this is not always true. What the new algorithm does is smooth out the
decompression profile. There are no deep micro-bubble stops and ‘normal’
decompression stops begin much deeper. Generally speaking, the
intermediate stops are longer compared with the standard VR algorithm
and shallower stops are shorter.
A unique feature of the V1
upgrade is that, once it is enabled, divers can switch to the algorithm
they prefer for the type of diving they are doing, even in between dives
if they wish. On every dive the VR computer records tissue and bubble
states using both algorithms so divers can swap between the two without
compromising their ability to switch back.
Product
Compatibility
New VR computers may now
be ordered via Delta P dealers with the V1 upgrade already installed.
Current VR owners may upgrade by returning their existing computer to
the factory via their dealer for the work to be done. The amount of work
required and the cost of the upgrade depends on the age and capabilities
of the unit being upgraded.
VR computers manufactured
since October 2004 which have Software Version V3.03Ac or V3.02Ac
installed are already armed with the expanded memory required to run the
V1 upgrade. Therefore all that is required is the software upgrade
itself. This will cost £195.00 in the UK incl. VAT. This will also be
the price to have the V1 upgrade enabled on a new VR2 or VR3.
If your VR3 has the later
body style (circlips visible behind the switch pockets and a 7 pin I/O
connector) and has software version V2.1 CXR, V3.03aB or if you have a
VR2 with V2.1CXR or V3.02aB installed, you will need to buy the expanded
memory required and the software upgrade. The price for this will be
£393.00 incl. VAT.
If you have a VR3
manufactured before June 2003 which either has no I/O connector on the
side or takes a 2 pin connector and which has no visible switch circlips,
then your current box cannot be fitted with the expanded memory
required. So you will also need to upgrade the box to the new body
style. Together with the expanded memory and software upgrade this will
cost £643.00 incl. VAT.
When considering upgrading
one of these older units, owners using analyser or rebreather cables
should be aware that the new box will have a 7 pin connector, not a 2
pin connector.
