This purpose built 7.6m rigid hull inflatable dive vessel is designed by divers for divers! Rusthunter is fast, nimble and easy to position anywhere round NZ waters. She has a thirst for getting to hard to reach locations giving you the very best dive experience.

Taking a maximum of 4 advanced trimix CCR divers ( 4 x tanks each, scooters), 6 intermediate technical divers (2 stages) and 8 recreational divers ( 2 tanks each). The purpose built 2m long bench is perfect for stowing gear and gearing up and entry into the water is too easy. There is more than enough space under the bench to stow any other gear. All powered by twin Yamaha 150hp four stroke engines, Rusthunter is built for comfort and carrying a load. She truly is a sight to behold.

Film Work

Rusthunter has been commissioned for numerous film work including BBC Natural History shoots and proved to be a fantastic support vessel for these operations. With high viewing platform and numerous places to secure Pole cams, Ronin set ups and Drone operations. Rusthunter is a workhorse. 240 litre underfloor fuel tank gives large operational distances with capabilities of attaching additional totes for extending times on the water without having to refuel from mother ships or from shore.

Survey Work

Rusthunter is fully capable of rigging up survey equipment and has a large open area in the aft area. Benches can be fully removed, or kept and centre bar removed to create great work platforms. We also have set up a Garmin Kraken trolling motor on the bow powered by three lithium batteries giving long operational times. This trolling motor is essential for sidescan work. We currently own a JW Fisher 600ktz Sidescan sonar fish with 200m of cable. So coupled with the Kraken trolling motor large areas can be preplanned and marked on the high tec GARMIN plotters and the trolling motor will automatically complete the transects from as low as 1-1.5 knotts. There is also a capability of a 32″ screen to be set up so any drone work can be live fed into the HDMI link to the TV.
