BIKINI ATOLL: Dive Trips
Come and Experience the Nuclear Fleet
Dive Bikini Atoll with Lust4Rust Dive Excursions
YES WE ARE BACK! After a long wait for the right vessel with the right safety support gear, the team at Lust4Rust Dive Excursions are so proud to be able to announce that we are OPEN FOR BUSINESS to Bikini Atoll. So come Dive the Nuclear Shipwrecks of Bikini Atoll with Lust4Rust Dive Excursions! There was a lot of speculation that Bikini was “closing down” after 2026 and I can guarantee you that couldn’t be further from the truth. If you haven’t heard of what happened during “Operation Crossroads”
Without a shadow of a doubt, Bikini is one of the most remote technical dive locations on the planet. And with that comes having the right safety gear. Our Vessel has a fully operational twin lock recompression chamber onboard. An absolute MUST for this sort of diving. The main reason we have not been going to Bikini since 2016 was we just couldn’t give you the safety support you needed. Now we can!
Peace of Mind while diving in Isolated areas
Diving in remote locations certainly does have its own mountain of risks and when you add technical diving into the equation, those risks increase dramatically. There is nothing wrong with exploration with minimal safety and support gear, just as long as everyone knows, understands and acknowledges these risks. Unfortunately, most of the time we really don’t fully grasp those risks. One main concern is if someone gets bent during a technical diving trip. This happens more often than people want to admit. But again, DCI in the diving world is no different to a mountain biker coming off their bike – just a sporting injury, and it happens. Having the right equipment will help treat problems on site. As a result of having this extra gear will not end the trip for everyone onboard. This will also reduce peer pressure if someone knows that they are not feeling well and would not like to come forward for the fear that it might end the trip for everyone. Diver safety is paramount. A chamber on site will not alleviate all problems, but it will certainly not end a trip for minor DCI problems. Also if someone is critically ill (Neurological DCI) it will take 30-50 hours minimum to get the boat to some sort of port to airlift a sick person to medical care. This delay could cause life altering consequences. Check out about the real risks of such trips
Diving Bikini in Small Groups
Onboard our vessel we have a maximum of 8 passengers on each trip. This reduces congestion on dive sites dramatically, making the experience that much more memorable. There are 4 comfortable twin rooms and plenty of deck space onboard to be able to relax, sit back and enjoy the whole trip.
The vessel Indies Surveyor
We will be using Indies Trader “Surveyor”. This vessel is a 24 meter long vessel with a 6m beam. This makes her extremely stable in big seas. There are 4 twin cabins, loads of deck space to relax. Galley area and dining room.
There is also a spacious back deck for gearing up and entering the water. Not to mention that we have a fully operational 48″ twin lock chamber available is the need arises to treat someone.
